April 7th is the anniversary of the launch of the first metro line in Warsaw.
30 years ago at 12:35 the first trains set off. The ceremonial launch of the first section of the M1 line took place at the Wilanowska station.
This is why this station was chosen as the best place for the mosaic ordered for this occasion. From that moment on, the 14 square meters mosaic will be a permanent element of the station's decor, available to the eyes of all passers-by.
The project is depicting the front of the subway car and is interwoven with the inscription "30 LAT" (30 years). But the real challenge was to fill the huge swaths of background. Thanks to the wide range of colors of Orsoni mosaic it was possible to create the nice color blending effects.
