Angels in the oncology hospice

Last Friday (March 17, 2023) the opening of the oncology hospice in Bramki took place. The new building is equipped with all possible equipment and facilities to bring relief to patients and their families in a difficult time. It is worth appreciating that care was also taken to ensure that the space is not limited to the medically necessary minimum. We all know how important the role of art and a friendly environment are and how much they affect the well-being and mental state of patients. That is why the artistic care of the hospice was entrusted to Lili Fijałkowska (painter and sculptor, creator of artistic ceramics, author of works in the field of workshop and computer graphics, co-founder of the creative group PositiveArt). Fijałkowska designed a decorative frieze in the hall of the building, sculptures in the courtyard and two stained glass windows in the chapel of the centre. We were asked to participate this unique project. We translated the painting project with angels into the "language of stained glass", trying to stick to the artist's vision as faithfully as possible. The second stained glass emphasizes the ecumenical and open character of the chapel, which will ultimately be used by people of different faiths.
