Window 12 - I believe in the forgiveness of sins

I believe in the forgiveness of sins.

Stained glass windows are an artistic expression of the faith in Jesus Christ and his authority to forgive sins. "But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.? So he said to the paralyzed man, ?I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.? (Luke 5, 24) The apostles and their succesors are giving the absolution through the baptism. Thus it is a sort of credo, that shows our trust in Church that recived from God total authority. "The "power of the keys" designates authority to govern the house of God, which is the Church. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, confirmed this mandate after his Resurrection: "Feed my sheep." The power to "bind and loose" connotes the authority to absolve sins, to pronounce doctrinal judgements, and to make disciplinary decisions in the Church. Jesus entrusted this authority to the Church through the ministry of the apostles and in particular through the ministry of Peter, the only one to whom he specifically entrusted the keys of the kingdom." (The Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 553)
