Window 1 Scene 3 - God's appearance to Abraham

The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, ?If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by." (Genesis 18:2). Winding road in the right and at the bottom of the window is also a symbol of God's call to Abraham: "By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." (Hebrews 11:8); ?Go from your country, your people and your father?s household to the land I will show you" (Genesis 12:1). At the bottom of the window three angels are sitting at the table in Abraham's house. This scene refers to Rublev's (russian painter) famous icon which is very important for both Orthodox and Roman Christianity.
